| The University of Miami School
of Medicine, an academic medical center founded in 1952,
is pleased to announce our 50th anniversary. The celebration
will begin in the fall of 2002 and continue through the
spring of 2003. The 50th anniversary is an event of historic
proportion for the medical school, and its significance
lies in reminiscing about the past and planning for the
future. This occasion provides us with an opportunity
to reflect on how this institution came into being, to
acknowledge the constituents who brought us to this point,

Medicine will play in education, research, patient care
and community service. To honor fifty years of excellence,
the University of Miami School of Medicine is hosting
a series of events and activities, both academic and social,
