Sanford L. Yankow, MD '69 spearheaded Florida State Rep. Ken Sorensen's sponsorship of House Bill 151, which allow people whose incomes fall within 200 percent of the national poverty level to receive care at free clinics in Florida. He was named Volunteer Physician of the Year by the Miami-Dade Department of Health for his work in free clinics in Monroe and Miami-Dade Counties.
