Director's Message

The University of Miami Center for Treatment Research on Adolescent Drug Abuse (CTRADA) has more than a decade of collaborative clinical research among the nation’s experts in family-based interventions for problem youth. The mission of CTRADA is to create a scientific climate of discovery and rigor that will facilitate the expansion of knowledge in adolescent substance abuse treatment through basic and applied studies. The fundamental orientation of CTRADA’s investigators is the development and refinement of family-oriented treatments for drug abusing adolescents. CTRADA aims to develop a greater understanding of treatment factors and patient and family characteristics that increase or decrease the likelihood of treatment success. In addition, these studies target a broad range of adolescent substance abuse populations.  Through the dissemination of information on successful treatment models to the local and national drug abuse community, CTRADA serves as a national resource to the National Institute on Drug Abuse for matters related to the treatment of ASA.
