Benefits and Limitations of Statin Therapy: Developments in the Management of Dyslipidemia

Upon completion of this activity, physicians should be able to:
1. Describe the benefits of statin therapy in both high risk and intermediate risk patients.
2. Review the obstacles and limitations of statin therapy.
3. Discuss the utilization of non-statin pharmacotherapy in place of or in addition to statin therapy to improve cardiovascular outcomes.
