Uric Acid: Can this Cheap Old Molecule Help Us Predict Cardiovascular Diseases?

Upon completion of this activity, physicians should be able to:
1. Review the evidence and pathophysiology supporting uric acid as a predictor of cardiovascular disease.
2. Review the evidence supporting uric acid as predictor of outcomes in selected populations.
3. Review the evidence supporting the use of xantine oxidase inhibitors improving outcomes in selected populations.
