As a member of the University of Miami workforce, you are bound by our committment to preserve the privacy and confidentiality of our patients' health information. This committment means full compliance with all applicable state and federal laws securing the privacy of health information, most notably, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). For this reason, our office was created to assist you with all matters concerning health information privacy and security at the University.

Patient Services

If you receive treatment at a University hospital or clinic, the privacy and confidentiality of your health information is protected by the applicable state and federal laws just like any other patient.
