The Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute would like to announce its 2nd Annual Symposium on June 27, 2008 at the University of Miami Hospital, South Building, 1st Floor conference room. This symposium brings together leading experts to discuss novel data on the latest cutting-edge advancements in the field of stem cell research (click here for the program). Discussions from prominent keynotes including:

  • Dr. Evangelos Badiavas - Bone Marrow Cells in Wound Healing
  • Dr. Herman Cheung - Dental Pulp Derived Pluripotent Stem Cell
  • Chunming Dong - Endothelial Progenitor Cells),
  • Dr. Joshua Hare - Clinical Trials with Mesenchymal Stem Cell in Cardiac Patients
  • Dr. Tan Ince - Cell origin influence on tumor phenotype),
  • Dr. Norma Kenyon - MSC and Immune Effects Following Cellular Grafts

The conference is seeking poster participation by UM researchers to showcase recent findings of their research in stem cell biology. Presenters should make their posters both informative and visually interesting. Due date for poster submissions including abstracts by Friday, June 13, 2008 and should be sent via e-mail to Sharifa Pettigrew (spettigrew@med.miami.edu) Administrative Assistant to the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute. There will be twelve posters presented.
