E-mail: ddurant@miami.edu Debra Durant began her career at the University of Miami in 1979 at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. After 22 years at Bascom Palmer, culminating with her appointment as director of development, public relations, and marketing, she was named assistant vice president for community relations for the Miller School. She now serves as the associate vice president for marketing for UHealth and the Miller School. With more than 30 years of communications, advertising, market development, and fundraising experience, Debra has managed comprehensive public relations programs, including awareness campaigns, and community and media relations. Joanne Leahy Email: jleahy@med.miami.edu Joanne Leahy joined the Office of Marketing in 2007. She previously was manager of community relations at UM/Sylvester at Deerfield Beach. Her responsibilities now include overseeing marketing plans, community outreach, and facilitation of marketing initiatives of various health system departments. Joanne has more than a decade of hospital marketing experience and was the director of marketing for a 50-physician medical group. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Illinois and will receive a master’s degree in liberal studies from the University of Miami in spring of 2008. Robyn Nissim As director of special projects, Robyn Nissim manages various aspects of the office’s collateral materials and marketing initiatives, including web site and publication consulting, writing, and art direction. Prior to joining the Office of Marketing at the Miller School of Medicine, Robyn was editor in the Office of Communications. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Robyn has a bachelor’s degree in English from Tulane University and a masters degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. Beatriz Carrazana E-mail: bcarrazana@med.miami.edu Beatriz Carrazana joined the Miller School of Medicine in July 2006 and serves as the coordinator and assistant to the associate vice president for the Office of Marketing and Community Relations. She is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program for a degree in business management at Florida International University. Jacqueline Beauperthuy E-mail: jbeauperthuy@med.miami.edu Jackie Beauperthuy serves as the senior staff associate for the Office of Marketing and Community Relations. She joined the Miller School in 2004 as a clinical research assistant for the CIGTS and OHTS programs in the Department of Opthalmology. She earned her Associate of Science degree in optometrics at Miami Community College and holds an Associate Certificate in Special Education from Florida State University. |
