Cardiac Imaging
In January 2008 the Cardiovascular Division at the Miller School of Medicine inaugurated a new Nuclear Cardiology diagnostic service in suite M at the South Building of the University of Miami Hospital. This is the first time the Cardiovascular Division is providing this modality of noninvasive cardiac testing at the University of Miami.
A state of the art cardiac-dedicated nuclear camera is used in suite M. An experienced certified full-time nuclear technologist is responsible for the acquisition and processing of the studies, which are reviewed and interpreted by a trained nuclear cardiologist. Most of the signed final reports are generated within 2 hours of the termination of the studies.
In May 2008 the first state inspection was performed and we are very proud to inform that we passed the inspection with no violations at all, a tremendous achievement for this young service.
