Jay S. Kerzner, M.D., is assistant professor of clinical medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Kerzner graduated from Swarthmore College and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He trained in medicine at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, New York; Hahneman Hospital in Philadelphia; and in Cardiology at Brigham in Boston. He completed a research fellowship in cardiology in the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Prior to joining the University of Miami, Dr. Kerzner practiced clinical cardiology in South Florida for many years, and served as medical director of the Cardiac and Vascular Institute, director of medical affairs, and chief of staff at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. Dr. Kerzner was instrumental in elevating the treatment and care of cardiovascular disease at Memorial Regional Hospital, including the creation and development of several educational and quality improvement programs. He practices consultative cardiology, including a focus on challenging clinical problems and preventive cardiology.
