History

The E. M. Papper Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Molecular Biology was established 20 years ago through the fundraising efforts of the former dean of the medical school, Emmanuel M. Papper, M.D. His mission was to provide state-of-the-art assays of human immune function to the medical community of the University of Miami, School of Medicine, as well as to medical entities in south Florida. The laboratory was designed to function as a clinical immunology reference service for patient care and also for clinical research. Today, the laboratory ranks among one of the most prestigious in the nation.
