How To Apply
Travel Fellowships are available for young scientists who wish to attend the 2008 Symposium.  Applicants are required to present a poster in order to be considered for a fellowship award. 

Travel awards will consist of:

  • Registration to the Symposium paid by the Organizers. (Use the registration form on this website to register.   Do not mark the payment section.)
  • Contribution towards the cost of travel based on Apex/economy fares (the least expensive form of travel available).
  • Contribution towards hotel accommodation within the period of  February 2-6, 2008.

Eligibility 
Applicants must be advanced graduate students or postdoctorals in no more than their third year.  Verification of the applicant’s status must be made in an accompanying letter from the applicant’s mentor.  Preference will be given to applicants from areas where biochemistry and molecular biology are still in a state of development.

Applications must include:
A Short Report (extended abstract) for poster presentation following the instructions found on this web site.  The deadline for Short Reports is November 5, 2007, but if you are applying for a fellowship award, you MUST send your Short Report along with your application by October 29, 2007, NOT November 5.  There is a poster competition for graduate students and postdocs, with cash prizes available for the winners.  Accepted fellowship applicants are eligible to participate in this.  Instructions for preparing your Short Report can be found on this website.

A brief CV stating:

  • The applicant’s name, full current address, phone, fax, email
  • Educational background
  • Research interests
  • List of publications
  • Recent travel awards
  • Statement of  level of financial support that is requested, with justifications for the costs of travel.  Itinerary  for  the lowest cost of travel available from your originating city.
