Meeting Venues: All Symposium sessions will be held in the Mediterranean Ballroom at the Miami Beach Resort & Spa Hotel, 4833 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, 33140, U.S.A., Phone: 1-305-532-3600, Fax: 1-305-538-2807. The hotel is located on Miami Beach, on the ocean, and is only a few minutes from South Beach, with easy access to major attractions.

The hotel rates have been negotiated to give you the lowest possible rates for this peak winter season in South Florida. To obtain these rates you must make your reservations via the Symposium Office. SEE HOTEL INFORMATION SECTION ON THIS WEBSITE FOR SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT HOTEL RATES. 

Advance Registration: The registration/housing form is available online.  The registration fee provides for admittance to the Symposium conferences, all workshops and poster sessions; scientific and publisher exhibits; the final program booklet, the book of abstracts, which will be given out at registration; a free one year subscription to one of three Nature magazines Nature Cell Biology, Nature Medicine and Nature Biotechnology (subscription is not available for student, discounted, or complimentary registrants), and attendance at the social functions in the exhibition area. A late fee of $100 will apply to all registrations received after December 31. Cancellation refunds will not be honored if the request is received after December 31, and there will be a $100 fee for any cancellation at any time. Payment must accompany your registration form. On-site registration begins at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, at the Miami Beach Resort & Spa Hotel. There are no lectures on Saturday, only registration. Lectures begin on Sunday, February 3, at 8:30 a.m. with posters and lectures begin at 9:30 a.m.  Associates are companions (spouses) accompanying a registrant who will not be attending the scientific sessions. The $50 fee entitles the associate to attend the wine tasting parties, to enter the exhibition hall, and to receive a tote bag containing information about sightseeing and shopping. Associates who wish to attend the scientific sessions must pay the regular registration fee.

SYMPOSIUM BANQUET

The Symposium Organizers have arranged a banquet in order to allow registrants and speakers to meet and join in the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Phillip A. Sharp.  This will be held on Monday February 4, at the Miami Beach Resort & Spa Hotel, Miami Beach. Tickets may be purchased for $65 per person.  (No refunds on banquet tickets after December 31, 2007.)  Tickets are limited, please sign up early.  This is the only way you will be able to attend the presentations by these two speakers.  See the registration form to purchase your ticket(s). Speakers, Registrants, Exhibitors and Associates, EVERYONEis invited to attend.

American Airlines is the official airline for the Miami Winter Symposium.  They offer 5%-10% discounts on the lowest applicable fares if you book at least 7 days or more prior to the Symposium from anywhere in the USA and Canada.  For domestic travel call: 1-800-433-1790 and identify the Symposium by STARfile #A5218AB.  If you use your own travel agency to book your travel, please have them identify the meeting by using the STAR number.

Important Deadlines and Dates

Travel Fellowships: October 29, 2007

Posters: November 5, 2007, however, papers will be considered after the deadline for poster presentation and for on-line publication, but will not be considered for oral presentation in the main program (Deadline for late posters is December 28, 2007)

Reduced Registration: December 31, 2007

Hotel Reservation Cut-off: January 10, 2007 (reservations will be taken after this date but are subject to availability)

On-site Registration Begins: Saturday, February 2, 2008, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Miami Beach Resort & Spa Hotel. The registration desk will remain open thereafter, Sunday-Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  A schedule will be posted.
