15th Annual Richard P. Bunge Memorial Lecture
Jeremy Brockes, Ph.D., professor of structural and molecular biology at University College London School of Life and Medical Sciences, will present this year’s Richard P. Bunge Memorial Lecture at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 10, at the Lois Pope LIFE Center, seventh-floor auditorium. Dr. Brockes’ lecture is titled “The Nerve Dependence of Vertebrate Limb Regeneration.”
His work on the molecular basis of cellular interactions in the mammalian PNS (particularly the interactions between Schwann cells, neurons and muscle cells) led to early characterization of a neuregulin growth factor. He has since discovered mechanisms underlying the extensive regenerative repertoire of salamanders.
