38th Annual Eastern-Atlantic Student Research Forum
Miller School Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs and CEO of UHealth, will kick off the 38th Annual Eastern-Atlantic Student Research Forum at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, in Bascom Palmer Eye Institute’s Jose Berrocal Auditorium.
The four-day Eastern-Atlantic Student Research Forum, which continues through Saturday, February 25, is a regional scientific meeting where medical and graduate students, medical residents and interns from the eastern United States and other countries are selected to present original basic science and clinical research in a variety of biomedical fields. The goal is to promote collegiality and encourage the pursuit of research among future physicians and scientists.
This year’s keynote speaker is Maria T. Abreu, M.D., professor of medicine and microbiology and immunology and chief of the Division of Gastroenterology. Dr. Abreu will present “Charting a Course to Success as a Physician-Scientist” at noon on Thursday, February 23, at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Jose Berrocal Auditorium.
