Aquatic Toxins

The Florida Poison Information Center – Miami operates the national Aquatic Toxins Hotline (1-800-232-8635), an informational service which provides access to updated Florida red tide status and location, as well as information on Florida red tide and other aquatic toxin issues such as ciguatera and blue green algae (cyanobacteria).  This service is sponsored by the Florida Department of Health Aquatic Toxins Program and the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission.  Callers to the Hotline have the option of speaking to a poison specialist about an exposure or question, or listening to the updated red tide status report or other general information on each topic.  For information and links on a specific topic, see below.
