Funded by the Life Technologies Foundation, Inc., the University of Miami’s John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG) initiated the Genetics Awareness Project (GAP) to inform South Florida’s Black and Hispanic communities about the value of genetics and its influence on personal health.

GAP is an educational program designed to inform the public about genetics while increasing understanding and awareness about…

  • the benefits of discussing your family health history
  • the role of genetic research in preventing and treating complex diseases
